Privacy policy Phonea
Last updated: October 2026 (app version 1.4). The German version is legally binding.
In short
Phonea needs no account and shows no ads. What you type and save as a favourite stays on your device. Usage statistics and crash reports are only sent if you agree on first launch.

Data on your device
Phonea stores your input, favourites and settings (e.g. the chosen spelling alphabet) only locally on your device. They are not sent to me. If you uninstall the app, they are gone.
Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (only with consent)
On first launch Phonea asks whether you want to allow usage statistics and crash reports. Without your consent both are switched off. With your consent the app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This processes, for example, a random app instance ID, device model, Android version, app version, language setting, approximate region and information about screen views or crashes. What you type is not transmitted.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time in the app's settings. Data may be transferred to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More: Privacy and security in Firebase.
Google Play review dialog
Phonea may ask you for a rating using Google Play's in-app review feature. The rating is handled entirely by Google Play; I receive no personal data from it.
Download via Google Play
When you download or update the app, Google Play processes data under its own terms. I have no influence on this.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD).
Children
The app is not specifically aimed at children under 13.
